Campsie Food Festival
Saturday, 6 June 2009 at 6:09 pm

So... here it goes.
Heaps of asian year 10, 11, and 12s offered to help out at the festival as volunteers for fun & ... to decorate our resume :)

Well Huong, Brenda,Vanessa, Dalena and I were arranged to manage the "Volunteers tent," which refers to handing out helium balloons and info and stuff, but everyone was just doing anything and helping out everywhere. So first thing we arrived at about 8-9 am [Vanessa said she took 1hrs+ to get there from the shire ;) ]... and Huong and I started off by putting up sponser posters and organsing tables and chairs.
Then we realised others were hanging out at DCM [we get free drinks there :D & council pays >:)], so we decided to get a nice hot drink in such a chilly weather [ besides Dalena who was brave enough to order a ICE choclate D:]. Back at the info tent we met up with some other volunteers, Angela, Heidi, Phuong, Nola, Cassandra and so on and around 9:30am more volunteers appeared including the year 12s.
Hmm...entertainment of the day were celebrity chefs Luke Nguyen [Dalena Nguyen's uncle :D] & Better Homes and Garden's Ed [apparently Luke made volunteers wash his stuff, while Ed was the good guy washing his own D':... in the women's center o_o] annnnd kicking in some lion dancing and cultural dancing. Also, the whole street was packed with food from a range of cultures :]
Well awesome highlights of the day were:
1. being a pig- free food :) [omg Vanessa & I were so full... we unfortuately did something immoral :( ]
2. bumming around
3. socialising..
4. being rejected 0:D
5. AND who can forget... us pigs broke the table ;D..severly= deformed metal legs which shot through the wooden surface [where Brenda the smart one heard something and jumped off immediately >:( ]
6. for Dalena it was the addiction of the balloons and the gas/helium tank
7. AHA Huong missed out on Sims 3 [it was sold out in most Big Ws on the first dayof sale]
